Luke Johnson, Healy, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Bethany College for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Johnson is a 6'2", 180 lb. guard from Healy High School. There he averaged 16.9 ppg. And 11 rpg. He shot 48 percent from the field and 60 percent from the line. At Healy he earned all-league first team honors and all-area honorable mention. He has played in the Northwest and Southwest Kansas basketball all-start games. Johnson also played football, baseball and ran track at Healy.

Off the court, Johnson was a member of student council and the National Honor Society. He also was active in the Scholars Bowl.

"We are pleased to have Luke choose to continue his education at Bethany and become part of the Bethany basketball," said head coach Clair Oleen.

Johnson is the son of Walter and Georgia Johnson. He has a 3.6 high school GPA.
