Jason Mihalcin, Arvada, Colo., and Danny Dodson, Brighton, Colo., have signed letters of intent to play basketball at Bethany College for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Mihalcin is a 6'6", 180 lb. forward from Jefferson Academy in Broomfield. There he was a two-year varsity starter, receiving team MVP honors. He also was named Frontier League Player of the Year. He averaged 18 ppg. And 12 rpg. He shot 67 percent from the field and 65 percent from the line. His senior year he had 70 blocks, 35 steals and 45 assists. He will play in the Colorado All-State Basketball game on June 12.

Dodson is a 6'6", 180 lb. forward, also from Jefferson Academy. He was a four-year letterwinner. He earned all-league honors his junior and senior years and all-state honorable mention his senior year. Dodson averaged 11.9 ppg. And 6.9 rpg. He shot 64 percent from the field and 57 percent from the line. His senior year he had 21 blocks, 27 steals and 69 assists.

Head coach Clair Oleen is pleased to have such versatile players who can play very well in both the high and low post of the triangle offense.

"Jason and Danny formed an outstanding high-low tandem for Jefferson Academy," Oleen said. "We are very pleased to have Jason, Danny and their families become a part of Bethany College and Bethany basketball," Oleen added.

Mihalcin is the son of Michael and Janet Mihalcin. He has a 4.11 high school GPA. At Bethany he plans to study in the college's 3+2 engineering program.

Dodson is the son of Dan and Viola Dodson. He has a 3.1 high school GPA.
