With a 3-0 start, including a win over NCAA Div. III MacMurray, the Bethany football Swedes received votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
The last time the Swedes received votes in the NAIA poll was in 2007 when the Swedes also started the season with three wins.

This Saturday the Swedes take on rival Kansas Wesleyan, also undefeated, in a 5 p.m. contest held at Salina Stadium. The Bethany vs. Kansas Wesleyan rivalry dates back to the Swedes' very first football game in October 1893. Though the Swedes lost that game, the overall W-L record between the two schools is Bethany 54 wins, Kansas Weslayan 37 wins and five ties.

The national poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents. The next Top 25 Poll will be announced on Monday, Oct. 5.
