With a four-game winning streak and hungry for more, the Bethany College women's soccer team kicked off their conference schedule with a trip to Southwestern College Saturday afternoon.
"We didn't play as well as we have been," said head coach Steve Moore. "Southwestern did the things they needed to do to get the win, and we didn't do the things we can and have been."
The Swedes were unable to keep their streak alive as they fell in a tight 1-0 match with the Moundbuilders.
"Things are not going to get any easier as we face Ottawa this week, who is one of the top two teams in the conference, if not the top," Moore said.
Bethany is now 0-1 in the KCAC and 5-4-1 overall. They next host Ottawa University on Wednesday, October 7 at 5 p.m. before heading to Tabor College Saturday, October 10 at 6 p.m.
"Home has been good to us so far," said Moore. "We will have to play well to get a good result. We need to get back on track, if not with a win, then with playing how we can and to our ability level."
