After losing five seniors, Jim Campion looks at the 2009-2010 season as a great challenge for the Swedes.

"Our goal after last season was to work hard on getting stronger and quicker. We have moved in that direction but there is still work to be done to compete at the top of this conference," Campion said.

"A very tough non-conference schedule will test the team early in the season and hopefully prepare us for the KCAC," Campion added.

The Swedes were picked to finish eighth in both the media and coach's polls conducted at Wednesday's KCAC Basketball Media Day held at Friends University in Wichita.

The Swedes official open practice Wednesday at Bethany's annual Midnight Madness to start at 11 p.m. in Hahn Gym.
