Fresh off the men's appearance at the University of Central Missouri, the Bethany College indoor track and field teams traveled to the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Iowa State University on Friday, February 12.

"We had 32 personal bests," said head coach Aaron Davis. "At Iowa State, (junior) Nick O'Laughlin shattered the school record with a 1:13.44 to his previous record of 1:15.10. (Senior) Hugo Escobar also broke the old record with a 1:15.07; those are the two fastest times for the 600-yard in school history. The men's 4x400m relay, Hugo, Nick, and (sophomores) Milton Collins and Tomas Ortiz, team also came very close to the School record "3:23.94" as they ran 3:24.38. Tomas improved his split by over seven seconds from a last year. (Junior) Kate Dibbern also PR'ed in the 5000m with a time of 19:30.55."

While seven athletes competed at Iowa State, the majority of the squad competed at the UNK All-Comers meet.

"At UNK, (junior) Jackie Rogers qualified for nationals in the weight throw with a 51-07 ft.," Davis said. "(Sophomore) Mollie Dahl also improved her national mark with 42-0 ft in the shot put. (Freshman) Ashley Liddell had a huge improvement in the 60m hurdles with a 9.51 PR and is a tenth of a second off from qualifying for nationals."

The Swedes then traveled to the Nebraska Tune-Up on Friday, February 19.

"We had three school records on Friday," Davis said.

Sophomore Courtney Gallardo broke the record in the women's 200m dash with a time of 27.18. O'Laughlin ran a 50.35 in the men's 400m dash, shattering the school record. The men's 4x4 relay team had a 3:23.63 national qualifying performance.

Bethany then competed at Kansas State University on Saturday, February 20.

"Mollie Dahl improved her national mark in the shot put throwing at K-State with a throw of 43 feet," said Davis.

The Swedes next compete at the NAIA Indoor Nationals in Johnson, Tenn. on March 4-6.
