The medallions were awarded by KCAC Commissioner Scott Crawford who stated, "As part of a renewed commitment to the Champions of Character program, sponsored by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) is recognizing students for their commitment to the five Champions of Character core values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership."

He also praised all the athletes awarded by saying that they "have not only met this level of commitment to the Champions of Character program, but have also been nominated by their respective head coaches for their positive impact on their campus, in their sport, and within the conference during competition last fall."

*Kristin Palmer and Matt Allen were unable to attend the game to receive their medallions. Palmer currently is completing an internship at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla. and Matt Allen is studying abroad at Harlaxtan College.
