Sophomore Rhys Pihl and junior Cathy Wade have earned KCAC post-season honors for their efforts


during the 2009-2010 basketball season.
Pihl, a guard from Lindsborg, Kan., was a unanimous all-KCAC first team selection. Pihl led the KCAC in scoring (18.83 ppg) with a season high of 41 points in the Swede's season opener November 3 vs. Concordia University (Neb.).
During the season, Pihl averaged 4.73 rpg, 1.5 steals, and 2.37 assists. She shot 33 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from beyond the arc and 79.3 percent from the line. She ranked 11th in NAIA Div. II in total scoring with 565 total points on the season. She also ranked 15th nationally in points per game.
Wade, a forward from Midwest City, Okla., earned all-KCAC honorable mention honors. Wade was the Swede's second-leading scorer behind Pihl, averaging 12.25 ppg. She shot 39.7 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from beyond the arc. Wade's 80.3 percent shooting from the line puts her second in the KCAC in free throw percent.
Wade averaged 6.18 rpg, landing her 10th overall int he KCAC in rebounds per game. She had 28 total assists, 16 total steals and four blocks on the season. She had a season-high 27 points in the Swedes December 12 game vs. McPherson College.
The Swedes finished their season after losing to Sterling College in a KCAC Tournament semi-final game. They finished 9-21 overall and 5-13 in conference play.
