Fernando Paiva, a sophomore from Brazil, was named KCAC Player of the Week for his efforts during the week of March 15-21.
During the week he went 2-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles.
At Collin County Community College (TX) in singles he won 6-1, 7-5. At Prairie View A&M University (TX) in singles he lost 6-4, 6-2, and in doubles the losing score was 8-5. At Our Lady of the Lake in singles he won 6-2, 6-3, and in doubles the winning score was 8-0.
Paiva defeated the #4 player from #3 nationally ranked JUCO Colin County in singles, and then defeated NAIA Our Lady of the Lake #4 singles and #3 doubles team. The only singles and doubles loss of the week for him came to NCAA Division I Prairie View A&M in two close matches as he went 1-1 in doubles and 2-1 in singles.
