Bethany came out swinging in game one, combining for 13 hits and scoring in each of the first three innings. The Swedes posted a 6-0 lead before the Moundbuilders answered back with two runs in the fourth, but were unable to muster any more as the Swedes went on to a 6-2 victory.

Seniors Morgan Evans, Jacquelyn Hernandez, and Emily Zimmerman and junior Britany Brady all had two hits in the contest. Junior Anita Espinoza, sophomores Stephanie Tyler and Kellyn Peters, and freshmen Brittany Mosqueda and Nicole Felker all contributed one hit. Zimmerman tallied two RBIs after her two-run home run while Mosqueda also had two RBIs. Evans and Hernanez each totaled one RBI apiece.

After a scoreless first inning in game two, Southwestern got on the board with a three-run second inning. However, the Swedes pulled within one before the Moundbuilders smoked a two-run home run in the third. The Swedes added one run in the fourth, and after Southwestern scored in the sixth, Bethany posted a comeback in the seventh. However, after one run, the comeback fell short as the Swedes fell 6-4.

Felker and freshman Miranda Mickelson led the Bethany bats with three hits each while Hernandez and freshman Brittany Lewis had two hits each. Evans, Zimmerman, Mosqueda, Peters, and freshman Lindsey Dougal each tallied one hit. Mickelson had two RBIs on the night as Felker posted one.

Senior Becka Hileman got the start for Bethany, giving up five earned runs off seven hits. Tyler came in as relief, holding Southwestern to one run off six hits.

The Swedes then hosted Sterling College Saturday afternoon.

Bethany got on the board early in game one, scoring in the first three innings before posting a four-run fourth. The Swedes held Sterling to a three-hitter as Bethany went on to a 9-0 run-rule.

The Swedes again got off to a hot start, jumping out to a 5-0 lead after the first and 12-0 after the third. Sterling posted a brief comeback with a three-run fourth, but Bethany held on for a 12-3 run-rule victory.

The Bethany bats were the story of the day, tallying 19 hits in the doubleheader. Zimmerman, Lewis, and Mickelson hit two home runs each on the day. Tyler got the start and win in both games, allowing zero runs on three hits in game one and three earned runs on six hits in game two.
