The Bethany College men's golf team headed to Oklahoma City on Monday and Tuesday, April 12-13 to compete in the UC Ferguson Classic.

The Swedes placed ninth at the tournament, shooting 321, 306, and 312, ending 939 at +87.

 

Freshman Chris McManus tied for 39th, shooting 76, 75, and 79, totaling 230 at +17. Senior Thomas Fernandes tied for 48th after shooting an 80, 75, and 82, finishing 237 at +24. Sophomore Ethan Miller tied for 57th, shooting an 85, 80, and 78, ending at 243, a +30. Freshman Tyler Maydue tied for 59th as senior Ian Ford tied for 61st. Maydue shot an 84, 76, and 84, finishing 244 at +31 while Ford shot an 81, 91, and 73, ending at 245 at +32.

"I took mostly my second team and I thought for the most part they played OK," said head coach and Bethany athletic director Jon Daniels. "I thought Chris McManus had a very good tournament. The top teams in the country were there and it was a good tournament for them to see where they were in relation to those very good teams."

Bethany next travels to Garden City, Kan. for the KCAC Tournament on Monday and Tuesday, April 26-27.
