The Bethany College softball team looked to add more chalk marks to their win column as they traveled to rival Kansas Wesleyan University on Tuesday, April 13.
 
Game one was a tight match-up as the Swedes and Coyotes went head-to-head. Bethany broke the tie by scoring two runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth inning. Kansas Wesleyan posted a comeback in the bottom of the seventh, but Bethany held on for a 6-3 win.
  
Seniors Morgan Evans and Jacquelyn Hernandez each had two hits while senior Emily Zimmerman and freshmen Brittany Lewis, Miranda Mickelson, Brittany Mosqueda, and Lindsesy Dougal had one hit apiece. Dougal had two RBIs off of her two-run home run as Lewis added two RBIs and sophomore Elissa Stein tacked on one.

Freshman Stephanie Tyler got the start and win for the Swedes, allowing three earned runs off 12 hits.

Game two featured an error-filled, back and forth battle. The Swedes got out to an early 3-0 lead before KWU cut the Swede lead to one. The Coyotes took a 6-5 lead in the third before Bethany plated four runs in the fourth. However, KWU bounced back, tying the game at nine. The Swedes broke the tie with one run in the sixth and two in the seventh, going on to a 12-9 victory.

Lewis and Mickelson led the Bethany bats with three hits each, followed by Evans, Zimmerman, and freshmen Ashley Nicolich and Nicole Felker with two. Sophomore Kellyn Peters added one hit. Mickelson plated three RBIs as Lewis and Nicolich contributed two. Zimmerman and Hernandez added one RBI apiece.

Senior Becka Hileman got the start for the Swedes, giving up eight earned runs off eight hits. Freshman Melanie Gray came in as relief, holding KWU scoreless and only giving up three hits.

The Swedes then hosted a non-conference doubleheader against Central Christian College on Friday, April 16.

Game one featured a close contest before Bethany plated four runs, holding on for a 4-1 victory.

The Swedes took charge of game two as the Bethany bats caught fire, defeating Central Christian 17-0 in five innings. The story of game two was freshman Lindsay Dougal, who hit for the cycle in only four at bats. Dougal garnered the rare cycle honors with a single, double, triple, and homerun in the contest.

Bethany ended the week with a trip to the University of St. Mary on Sunday, April 18.

The Swedes came out hot in game one, jumping out to a 4-1 lead before adding six runs in the third as Bethany went on to a 13-1 "W." Tyler got the start and win for Bethany, allowing one earned run off five hits. Head coach Janice Esses claime her 200th career win with this Swede victory.

Game two was a closer battle as the Swedes had a 4-1 lead going into the fifth before adding three more runs. Bethany then plated six more runs in the sixth, defeating the Spires 13-1 in a six-inning run-rule. Hileman started for the Swedes, picking up the win as she allowed zero earned runs off two hits.

Freshman Ashley Nicolich had two homeruns on the day as freshman Miranda Micklson and junior Anita Espinoza both also homered in game two.

The Swedes are now 10-2 in the KCAC, tied for second place, and 19-12 overall. The squad next hosts Ottawa University on Wednesday, April 21 at 4 p.m. before ending their regular season conference schedule on Saturday, April 24 at 1 p.m.
