Senior Rodd Williams
The men's basketball team announced several team awards during their annual banquet this past Sunday.
 
Senior Rodd Williams was named Most Valuable Player for his efforts during the 2009-2010 season. Williams finished the season ranked second in the KCAC in scoring (18), fifth in field goal percent (42.2) and seventh in both steals (1.71) and assists (2.82).
Williams also earned all-KCAC honors was an NAIA all-American honorable mention.
 
Other awards were:
Most Inspirational Player: Kendall Banning and Manuel Honeycutt
Most Improved Player: Clayton Goggins and Vince Ferguson
Most Valuable Defensive Player: Brandon Miller
Freshman of the Year: Jack Sadowy
Jr. Varsity Player of the Year: Xavier Reynolds
Purple Heart Award: CJ Littlejohn
Thor Award: Brandon Miller
 
The Swedes finished the season 18-13 overall and 12-6 in conference play. They were KCAC Tournament runners-up.
 
"While the season ended with a tough loss, this group of young men poured their hearts and souls in getting to Branson," Head Coach Clair Oleen said. He added, "Our returning young men along with their new teammates who will be joining them will work hard together to make sure that "The Legacy Continues!" Bethany Basketball….One Body…."a FIST!"
