The Bethany College track and field team competed at the Bethel Invite on Saturday, April 24.

The Swede women finished third at the meet with 35 team points.

 

Sophomore Courtney Gallardo placed second in the women's 100m dash as sophomore Molly McElgunn and freshman Meranda Encinias finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Gallardo then finished fifth in the women's 200m dash. In the 400m dash, sophomore Courtney Chandler finished seventh. Sophomore Sabrina Scroggins placed seventh in the women's 1500m run as junior Kate Dibbern finished fourth in the women's 5000m run. Sophomore Shane Valdez took fourth in the women's 100m hurdles and fifth in the 400m hurdles. Junior Jaci Kepler finished sixth in the 400m hurdles.

The Bethany ‘A' 4x100m relay team finished second as the ‘A' 4x400m relay team placed fourth.

Valdez and Gallardo finished fifth and sixth in the women's long jump, respectively. Senior Amber Dunham placed second in the women's shot put as sophomore Mollie Dahl finished third. Jenna Koch, Jackie Rogers, and Hannah Hemberger placed sixth, seventh, and ninth, respectively. Koch took home the gold in the women's discus throw as Rogers placed second in the women's hammer throw. Dunham won the women's javelin throw.

On the men's side, sophomore Brian Vanorsby finished fourth in the men's 100m dash. The Bethany ‘A' 4x400m relay team finished eighth. Junior Dave Ramirez placed fifth in the men's hammer throw.

Bethany next travels to the KCAC Championships at Ottawa University Friday and Saturday, April 30-May 1.
