Eastin Casey, Natoma, KS, has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Bethany College for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Casey is a setter from Natoma High School where she was named a Northwest Kansas All-Star and earned first team all-league honors two years and all-league honorable mention one year. She also was named a Kansas Volleyball Association all-academic student-athlete and was on the superintendant's honor roll.
Bethany head coach Nathalea Stephenson says Casey brings a lot of energy to the court. "She understands the game of volleyball and I believe this will help her transition from high school to college. She is a strong player and has great footwork. It will be exciting to see her mature as a volleyball player," Stephenson said.
Casey also competed in track, cheerleading and basketball. She earned first team all-league basketball honors. She also was active in SADD, FCA, Catholic Youth Organization, band, choir, scholars bowl, forensics, student council, National Honor Society.
Casey is the daughter of Jay and Valerie Casey. She has a 3.94 high school GPA. At Bethany she plans to study biology.
