Haydon Parks, Osage, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Bethany College for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Parks is a forward/center transfer from Johnson County Community College. There he was named Player of the Week for the Jayhawk Conference. He averaged 11 ppg, 7 rpg, had 21 blocks, 29 steals and 40 assists at Johnson County. There he also shot 55.7 percent from the field, 67.8 percent from the line and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Previously Parks graduated from Northern Heights High School in Allen, Kan.

Bethany Head Basketball Coach Clair Oleen is pleased to have Parks coming to Bethany. "Haydon is a great student and a person of high character who will be a great fit for Bethany basketball, the triangle offense and our defensive system. We have known and recruited Haydon ever since he was at Northern Heights High School."

Parks is the son of Duane and Christine Parks. He has a 3.4 college GPA. At Bethany he plans to study physical education.
