Jacob Marrs - Head Coach - 2nd Season
Jacob Marrs is in his first year as head coach for the wrestling team. Marrs earned his bachelor's degree in general studies with an emphasis in health and physical education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in exercise science.
Marrs comes to Bethany from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he was a head strength coach for baseball and wrestling and assistant strength coach for football. While there, he helped coach UNO's 2010-11 wrestling team to a NCAA national championship. During his college wrestling career, he was a three-time All-Amercian and Academic All-American, placing in the top three every year with one runner-up finish. Marrs ranked fifth in UNO history with 51 career falls and an overall college record of 160-34.
Marrs wrestled at Clay Center Community High School, where he won the Kansas 4A State Championship as a junior. He was a NHSCA Senior Nationals All American at 215 placing him fifth in the nation. He was also a four-time qualifier and a three-time state placer.
Marrs resides in Lindsborg with his wife and five-year-old daughter.

Cody Garcia - Assistant Coach - 2nd Season
Garcia comes to Bethany from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he served as assistant wrestling coach. While there, UNO won the 2011 NCAA Division II National Championships. Prior to coaching, Garcia was a member of the UNO wrestling team, where he won national championships in 2006 and 2008, placed third in 2009, and placed second in 2010. He was a four-time All-American and Academic All-American, and his team won national championships in 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2010. Garcia graduated in 2010 with a 147-18 record, the fourth-highest number of all-time career wins at UNO since 1966. His 48 wins as a senior ranked as second-highest number in school history, and he set new UNO records of 84 career pins and 31 single-season pins.
Garcia was a three-time high school state champion and a four-time state place finisher for his dad Mike at Hutchinson High School.
Garcia resides in Hutchinson with his wife Kym and two daughters.
Nick Nothern - Assistant Coach - 1st Season
Bethany College Admissions Representative Nick Nothern is a new volunteer assistant wrestling coach. Nothern comes to Bethany from Iowa Lakes Community College, where he served as graduate assistant wrestling coach. He earned a master's degree in higher education from Iowa State University in 2012 and a kinesiology degree from Cornell College in 2010.
Nothern has helped coach one national champion and four All-Americans. While competing at Cornell, Nothern was a four-time NCAA Div. III national qualifier, earning All-American honors three times. In 2009, he was an NCAA Div. III runner-up, and he compiled over 120 wins in his four years competing at Cornell. In high school, Nothern wrestled for Salina South High School in Salina, Kan., where he was a three-time state finalist and a state champion in 2006 as a senior.
