Coach Bateman is entering his fourth year at Bethany College. 
 
In Coach Bateman's first four seasons Bethany has won all 4 men's and 3 women's conference titles and back to back to back men's regional titles wtih 3 national tournament appearances and a national tournament appearance also for the women. Under Bateman's leadership the men have not lost a conference match in 4 years going 33-0 against conference foes during that time.  With the recent addition of Coach Swiantek, we can only get stronger as a program. 
 
Coach Bateman was previously the head coach at Pratt Community College and led the men's team to a high national ranking of #16 and the women to a high national ranking of #19. coach Bateman consistently had players raked in the top 30 nationally at Pratt Community College.

As a player in Canada Coach Bateman was ranked in singles and doubles in open tennis. He went on to attend Barton County College, then moved on to graduate from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City with a BS in Finance. coach Bateman was ranked nationally in both singles and doubles in his college career. During the summers Coach Bateman runs the Bethany Tennis Camps at Bethany College.
