Felecia Simms - Assistant Coach - 1st Season

Felecia Simms, a 2006 graduate of Bethany College, begins her first season as the assistant track and field coach for the Swedes .

Simms, joins the track and field coaching staff after spending the past two seasons at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio where she was the throws coach. At Marietta College, Simms coached:

  • One NCAA DIII All-American Men's Indoor Weight Thrower
  • Two NCAA DIII National Qualifiers in four events (Men's Indoor Weight, Men's Hammer, Men's Outdoor Shot Put and Women's Hammer)
  • Four OAC Conference Champions (Women's Hammer, Men's Indoor Weight, Men's Hammer and Men's Javelin)
  • Twelve OAC Indoor Conference Qualifiers
  • Ten Indoor All-Ohio Qualifiers
  • Fifteen OAC Outdoor Conference Qualifiers
  • Twelve Outdoor All-Ohio Qualifiers
  • Thirteen Marietta College School Records broken

Simms, not only coached national caliber athletes but was also one herself. While attending Bethany College she was a five time NAIA National qualifier for both indoor weight throw and outdoor hammer, KCAC conference champion in the hammer, four time All-Conference KCAC award winner, and she also still currently holds the indoor weight and hammer records at Bethany College. She was chosen Bethany College/Lindsborg Chamber of Commerce Female Athlete of the Year for the 2003-2004 school year. Simms' was also named NAIA/Bethany College Female Champion of Character recipient in 2006.

After she graduated from Bethany College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education she taught one year at Anderson County Jr/Sr High School in Garnett, Kansas where she was the Head Jr. High Boys Track Coach and the High School Throws Coach.

After teaching one year she decided to go and get her Master's degree in Education at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. While working on her masters Simms was a graduate assistant for the track and field team. She was the throws coach as well as the strength and conditioning coordinator for the track and field program at Marietta.

Simms also has her USATF Level One certification.

Aaron Davis - Head Coach - 2nd Season

Head Cross Country and Track and Field coach Aaron Davis has served as coach at Bethany since 2008. 

Within his first season at Bethany College he coached:

  • One All-KCAC Cross Country Runner
  • One NAIA National Cross Country Qualifier
  • Six Bethany College School Records Broken
  • One NAIA National Champion Women's Outdoor Shot-Put
  • One NAIA National Runner-Up Men's Outdoor Long Jump
  • Four NAIA All-American's
  • Seven NAIA National Qualifiers

He also coached the 2009 Hershey's National Boys 100m Champion.

Before coming to Bethany College, Davis coached at Fort Hays State University where he was the assistant sprint/middle distance coach. While at Fort Hayes he coached one NCAA DII National Qualifier in the 8oo meter for Indoor Nationals and Outdoor Nationals, one MIAA Conference Champion in the 1500m, two MIAA All-Conference Runners and two RMAC All-Conference Runners.

Prior to coaching at Fort Hays State University Coach Davis was the Thomas Moore Prep High School Cross Country coach where he coached the Kansas State 3A boys cross country champion.

Davis graduated from Fort Hays State University in 2007 with a B.S. in Health and Human Performance.

He was also a member of the Adams State Cross Country and Track and Field Team in 2000-2005. Where he was

  • Fourteen time All-Conference (RMAC) athlete in cross country/track
  • Seven time RMAC Conference Champion in the 800m, 4x400m, and DMR
  • Member of the National Championship Cross Country team in 2003
  • Three time NCAA DII All-American in the 800m
  • NCAA DII All-American distance medley relay team member
  • USA National Jr. All-American in the 800m

Davis is level I and II USATF Certified Coach.
