Steven Moore - Head Coach - 3rd Season
Head women's soccer coach Steve Moore will begin his 3rd year at the helm in 2009.

His first 2 seasons as head coach have a seen dramatic upswing both in the team's records and in quad size.  In his first year as head coach, he led the Swedes to a 5-12-1 record, more than doubling the number of wins the team had seen in the previous 2 seasons combined.  The Swedes just narrowly missed out on the KCAC post-season tournament, finishing only 1/2 a game out of the playoff picture.  The Swedes also saw 3 of their own players make the all-conference squad, again something they hadn't seen the previous 2 years.  The 2008 season brought even more succes, with the Swedes going 11-6-2 and for the first time in 4 years, making the KCAC post-season tournament as the 5th seed.  The accolades continued to pour in following the season as 3 Swedes were named 2nd team all-conference and 2 were named honorable mention all-conference.  The team also saw their highest scoring output as a team since the conference championship year of 1998.

Moore comes to Bethany with five years of collegiate soccer coaching experience. Most recently Moore served as head men's and women's soccer coach at Concordia University-Chicago. There he coached the men's team to the first conference championship in the program's history. He also led the women's team to the highest win percentage in school history during his first season. His men's and women's team also garnered both of the conference's Newcomer of the Year Awards.  In addition to his coaching duties, Moore co-led Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was game operations manager for women's basketball.

Prior to Concordia University, Moore was assistant men's and women's soccer coach at Greenville College (Ill.) where he also served as an admissions counselor. Moore also has been a guest coach at numerous soccer camps across the country.

Moore holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Greenville College where he graduated Cum Laude. As an athlete at Greenville, Moore served as team captain in 2001. He also was a three-time St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week and two-time team defensive player of the year. Moore was named all-conference honorable mention, NCCAA All-Region first team and was an All-American. He currently holds the Greenville College record for most career saves. In 1998 his team was conference champions and in 1999 were conference runners-up.

He also holds a National License from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as well as State and Regional goalkeeping licenses from the NSCAA.
