Coach Nick Taylor came to Bethany following the 2006 season. During the next season, the Swedes ranked No. 3 in the NAIA in pass defense per game and No. 23 in total defense.

Before coaching at Bethany, Taylor served as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Eureka College in Eureke, Ill.; assistant football coach at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa; and offensive line coach and junior varsity head coach at McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile, Ala. Taylor has had experience coaching kickers, punters, returners, defensive line, defensive backs, and special teams.

Taylor holds a bachelor's degree from Sterling College in business administration with a minor in physical education and a master's degree from United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Ala., in sports science with an emphasis in sport coaching.

Taylor has played football at the NCAA Division III, NJCAA, and NAIA levels.

Taylor has worked at many football camps and is currently a certified Offensive Line Coach for the National Football Academies and is an active member of the American Football Coaches Association. At Bethany, Taylor is huddle coach for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes and assists with special teams ministries at Bethany College.

Taylor and his wife, Trace, reside in Lindsborg with their daughter, Maggie. Trace Taylor is the director of residential education and services at Bethany College.
