Joe Wilkerson - Head Coach
Certified by USA Track & Field (USATF) as a Level 2 coach in the jumps and in the throws, Coach Wilkerson began directing the Bethany College program in 2001 after 15 years of coaching track & field as a head or assistant coach at Liberal High School.
Named 2006 KCAC Women's Track & Field Coach of the Year, he has dedicated himself to helping athletes improve as he has been a personal trainer for many high school athletes who have achieved national recognition and has coached numerous high school athletes who have become High School All-Americans.
Furthermore, he has coached at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA, and has spoken and been involved in track & field clinics at Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University and Kansas State University.
While competing for Dodge City Community College, Coach Wilkerson held school records in the triple jump and as part of the 4 X 200m relay team. He graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in secondary education and physical education from Saint Mary of the Plains College which was located in Dodge City.
Coach Wilkerson and wife Michele have two children, Christopher and Rachelle.
