Angie Heinen is in her first year as assistant coach for the softball Swedes. She also served as assistant coach for the women's basketball team during the 2007-2008 season.

 

Heinen graduated from Bethany College in 2007 with a degree in biology. As a student-athlete, Heinen played softball from 2005-2007 and basketball from 2003-2007. On the field, Heinen was a team captain her senior year. She also earned second-team all-conference honors one year and was an academic all-American two years.

 

On the basketball court Heinen served as team captain her senior year, during which she also was named an academic all-American.

 

Currently Heinen is a research assistant for Dr. Gary Harbin, a Salina orthopedic specialist. She also is applying to medical school with hopes of starting this fall.
