James Tisdale, a junior from Liverpool, England, has been awarded the second annual Ken Carmichael Golf Scholarship. The scholarship was set up in 2012 and will be awarded annually for several years in memory of the Rev. Ken Carmichael.

The Swedes softball team ended the 2013 season with their second game at the NAIA Softball Championship opening round. They faced number 16 nationally ranked St. Gregory's University of Shawnee, Okla., and were narrowly defeated 2-1 on May 14.

Bethany College Head Baseball Coach Jeremy Cantrell has announced his resignation.

"The Bethany College athletic department family appreciates Coach Cantrell's five years of service as our baseball coach and his many contributions to Swede athletics," says Interim Athletic Director Scott McClure. "We wish him continued success in his coaching future."

The Bethany College men's tennis season ended yesterday in the round of 16 at the National Tournament in Mobile, Ala., with a 5-2 loss to #12 Aquinas College (Mich.). The Swedes received a first-round bye for the first time ever at the NAIA Tournament.
