Two of the Swedes at the 2009 NAIA national track and field meet last week in Edwardsville, Ill. saved their best for last.

While other awards will be forthcoming - All-KCAC designations and potential national honors - the track and field team took some time Sunday, May 17 to honor its own at an award banquet in the Levin Room at Pihlblad Union.

With two more chances to nail down national qualifying marks at Fort Hays on May 7 and Emporia State on May 9, sophomore Ira Autrey and senior Jessica Becker took advantage of the opportunity.

Three throwers won four individual titles and the Swedes notched a total of 36 seasonal best marks as the BC track and field teams took some of their best efforts to the KCAC championships May 1-2 in McPherson.

Freshman Molly McElgunn, Hutchinson, Kan., and senior Jessica Becker, Capitain, NM, have been named the KCAC week seven track and field players of the week.
