Kaitlyn Davis, Hill City, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball and track & field at Bethany College for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Davis is a middle hitter from Hill City High School. There she was named MCL all-league first team in 2009, and second team in 2008. She also competed in basketball and track where she finished 4th at the state track meet.

Five members of the 2009 Bethany College volleyball team were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.

Three members of the Swede volleyball team have earned KCAC honors for their efforts during the 2009 season.
 
Kristi Parker, senior, Mulvane, Kan., earned first-team honors; Serah Pele-Lafo, senior, San Francisco, Calif, earned second-team honors and freshman Samantha Andersen earned honorable mention.

As the regular season has come to a close, the Bethany College volleyball team has been busy preparing for the post-season. The Swedes traveled to Sterling College Tuesday night for the first round of the playoffs.
