For the second-straight year the Bethany softball team had the most softball players named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. Eight players made the cut.

Nine members of the softball team earned post-season KCAC honors for their efforts during the 2009 season.
 
Earning first-team honors were senior Sarah Logan, a third baseman from Clay Center, Kan., senior Laura Christopher, a second baseman from Aurora, Colo., and freshman Stephanie Tyler, a pitcher from Gelandale, Ariz.
 
Second-team honors were awarded to seniors Breanna Boling, Savannah Dejaml, Emily Heronemus, and junior Morgan Evans. Boling is a catcher from Phoenix, Ariz., Dejmal is a pitcher from Munden, Kan., Heronemus is a center fielder from Topeka, Kan., and Evans is a designated player from Yuma, Ariz.
 
Earning honorable mention honors were junior Jacquelyn Hernandez, a utility player from Oxnard, Cali., and senior Angelisa Sexson, a first baseman from Wichita, Kan.

The Bethany College softball team battled in the KCAC Tournament this past week.  The tournament was originally supposed to be hosted by Ottawa University, but due to inclement weather, the event was moved to Bethany College on Friday and Saturday, May 1st and 2nd.
