With only a few opportunities to qualify for the 2008 NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Edwardsville, IL, senior Anna Miller of Blue Rapids, KS, took advantage of the good weather and surpassed the NAIA "A" Standard in the discus at the Swede Last Chance Twilight at Anderson Track & Field Complex on May 8, 2008.

Competing at the 2008 KCAC Track & Field Championships at Friends University in Wichita, KS, on May 2-3, members of the women's team set two meet records and won four individual events.  All in all, 16 men and women earned KCAC All-Conference Honors or Honorable Mention Honors in several events. The women finished 4th overall in the team standings with 88 points, while the men finished 8th with 10.5.

At the Nebraska Open in Lincoln, NE, on April 27, 2008, junior Jessica Becker of Capitan, NM, and sophomore Amber Dunham of Independence, KS, enjoyed the day as both of them improved their national marks for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in the shot put, while Dunham qualified in the javelin.

With an NAIA National Indoor Championship and a number two ranking for the NAIA National Outdoor Championships in the shot put, junior Jessica Becker of Capitan, NM, traveled to Des Moines, IA, on April 26, 2008, to participate in the Drake Relays which were held April 23-26.
