Sophomore Rhys Pihl and junior Cathy Wade have earned KCAC post-season honors for their efforts during the 2009-2010 basketball season.

Pihl, a guard from Lindsborg, Kan., was a unanimous all-KCAC first team selection. Pihl led the KCAC in scoring (18.83 ppg) with a season high of 41 points in the Swede's season opener November 3 vs. Concordia University (Neb.).

The ninth-seeded Bethany College women's basketball team headed to the University of St. Mary on Monday, February 22 for their KCAC post-season play-in game.

Bethany came out firing in the first half, finding their hot shooting hand and going into halftime with a 10-point lead. The Swedes stayed ahead in the second half and held the Spires to only 26 points, breaking their five game losing streak and moving on in the KCAC post-season with a 66-53 win over USM.

Hoping to snap their three-game losing slide, the Bethany College women's basketball team entered their last week of regular season conference play. The Swedes traveled to Southwestern College Thursday night.

After a tough loss at the buzzer to Ottawa, the Bethany College women's basketball team was ready to get back on track as they hosted Tabor College Thursday night.

Bethany stayed in stride with the Blue Jays in the first half, and walked into halftime with a six-point lead. However, the Swedes saw their lead slip away in the second half and couldn't hang on as they fell 73-68 to Tabor.

The Bethany College women's basketball team is joining the Women's Basketball Coach's Association (WBCA) in the fight against breast cancer by hosting a WBCA Pink Zone game Saturday vs. Kansas Wesleyan University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Hahn Gymnasium.
 
All program sales during the women's basketball game will be donated to the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund.
