SWEDES FALL TO FALCONS

Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Football Team hosted the second half of a two-game homestand; this time against the Friends University Falcons.

The Falcons would jump on the board first following a Swedes' turnover in the first quarter. Later in the period, Bethany would orchestrate a 6-play, 68-yard touchdown drive capped off by a 50-yard touchdown reception by Brock Burnette from Alec Giragosian. Friends would control the rest of the game and take the win 55-6.

Alec Girogosian got the start and would go 12 for 30 for 162 and one touchdown. Isaiah Dyer would dominate in rushing attempts for the Swedes with 19 rushes for 29 yards. Brock Burnette would lead all receivers in the game with five catches for 99 yards and one touchdown.

Connor Payomo would lead Bethany in total tackles with 13 including eight solo tackles and a fumble recovery.

As a team, the Swedes would convert 33% of their third down conversions. Bethany would tally 225 total yards of offense and would average 3.5 yards per play. On defense, the Swedes would record 6 tackles for loss totaling 17 yards.

With two games left in the season, the Bethany Swedes have one away and one more at home. Up first is a trip to Hillsboro, Kansas to faceoff against the Tabor College Blue Jays on November 5th, 2022 for a 1pm kickoff.
