SWEDES WIN BIG IN HOME OPENER

Lindsborg, Kan. - The Bethany College Men's Soccer team hosted Kansas Christian College for the home opener. 

It was an all around great game for the Bethany College Men's Soccer team. The Swedes took an early 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal from sophomore, Josh Amador, in the 12th minute and would never look back as they would go on to beat Kansas Christian 6-0 in the first home game of the season. 

In the first half the Swedes held the Falcons to only 3 shots as the defense remained solid with junior goalkeeper, Jake Goldstein, tallying for 2 saves. On the offensive side, Swedes maintained most possession of the half while taking 7 shots and 4 corner kicks. 

After halftime, the Swedes stepped it up an extra notch scoring 5 goals. Josh Amador gets his second goal of the match in the 47th minute as he would go on to get the hat trick adding another goal in the 60th minute. Freshman, Joshua Momodu, would pick up first collegiate goal in the 54th minute from a corner kick by senior, Eduardo Goulart. The two would reconnect in the 62nd minute of the match on another corner kick. Freshman, Vincent Ademodi, would join in on the scoring with a goal off a reflection in the 59th minute as that was his first of his college career. Kansas Christian College had 1 shot in the second half as they would finish with 4 shots and 0 corner kicks in the match. 

The Swedes would finish the match with 17 shots, 9 corner kicks and 3 saves. Freshman, Tahj Reid, would have 1 assist and senior, Eduardo Goulart, had 2 assists. 

Head Coach Papa Ndiaye had nothing but great things to say about the game, "The score of our last game did not reflect on how the team played, and today I was proud of how they bounced back and answered in front of a great crowd at home."

The Bethany College Men's Soccer team will match up against Central Christian College as a make-up game on Monday, September 5th in McPherson, Kansas.
