SWEDES PREVAIL OVER EAGLES FOR FIRST PLAYOFF VICTORY SINCE 2017
Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Men's Tennis team qualified for the KCAC Spring Tennis Championships for the second year in a row. This time, they take on the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles in the first round. These two just played each other five days ago, so both have a clear idea on how to play the other.
The doubles point went to the Eagles as the #1 and #3 doubles teams both lost tough contests. In singles, the Swedes took control winning four straight singles matches to clinch a ticket to the semi-finals. Gustavo Cardoso (#4 singles) cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory to knot it at 1-1. Martin Priban (#3) and Diego Bsereni (#5) both won their matches 6-2, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-3, respectively to give the Swedes match-point.
Francisco Bravo (#1) sealed the deal with an electrifying 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory giving the Swedes their first win in the KCAC playoffs since 2017.
