SWEDES COMPETE IN THE WASHBURN RUST BUSTER

Topeka, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Indoor Track & Field teams took I-70 East to Topeka, Kan. to participate in the Washburn University Rust Buster.

"This past Friday we went back up to Topeka for a rust buster meet, tighter competition at this meet but it was great to get into the mix. We saw a lot of really good things from the distance side with numerous PR's, and our throws squad did great as well having 4 top 25 placings! The sprints and vaults looked good as well, we are ahead of the curve based on our previous season. Overall, we had a good turn out as a team, 2 top 15 performances and 4 top 25s, we are continuing to chop at the block as we work towards the next two meets. Go Swedes!"

Jermaine Garo's 36.45 second 300-meter run (15th) and Dylan Brice's 4.45 meter pole-vault (12th) paced the field for the men, while Mercy Ynostrosa's 10.98 meter shot put (17th) highlighted the women's team.
