SWEDES COMPETE IN FRIENDS SPRING OPEN

SWEDES COMPETE IN FRIENDS SPRING OPEN

Wichita, Kan. - The Bethany College Track and Field team wrapped up their 3 day competition at Friends University this past weekend.

In the biggest meet of the year, aside from Nationals, the Swedes ran away with more improvement and solid finishes. Overall the Swedes had 16 personal bests, 4 event finalists and 3 top 3 finishes.

Battling the wind on Day 2 and Day 3, the Swedes gained valuable experience in those conditions. The meet had 36 teams and was a great opportunity to see D1 and D2 athletes along with JUCO athletes compete at a high level.

The highest finish for the Swedes was Sophmore Kort Sjogren who finished 2nd in the Javelin throw. Throwing over 50 meters in the conditions was a solid showing. Saturday wrapped the meet up with the men's 4x400m team winning their heat and running a personal best for the year.
