SWEDES ROLL PAST PANTHERS

York, Neb. – The Bethany College Swedes Women's Basketball Team took the road to York, Nebraska to face the York University Panthers for the first of two matchups this season.

The Swedes opened the game with a 16-0 run capped off by a three-pointer from Kisa Unruh who drained three deep balls during the stretch. Unruh would score 11 of her 14 points on the night in the first quarter.

In the second period, 9 different Swedes would score at least one field goal as Bethany would extend the lead to 27 points and go into halftime up 48-21. In the first half, Bethany would hold York to just 22.6% shooting from the floor and force 15 turnovers including 12 steals for the Swedes.

The Swedes would coast to the finish line scoring 17 points in each period of the second half and take the win 82-59.

Kisa Unruh would lead the Swedes in scoring with 14 points with four three-pointers made in the contest. Angie Lopez would finish right behind Unruh with a season-high 13 points. R'Manie Pulling would also score double-digits with 10 points. Sarah Reiner would continue to own the paint grabbing 11 rebounds, a new season-high.

As a team, the Swedes would shoot a season-high 52.7% from the floor (29 for 55). Bethany would hold York to 16.7% shooting from deep (4 for 24) which is the Panthers' season-low. The Swedes would score 28 points off 22 Panther turnovers. Both team's rotational players would add plenty to the pot as both teams received 42 points from their respective benches.

The end of the semester is approaching quickly as next week is finals week. The women's basketball team has one more matchup before the end of the calendar year. The Bethany College Swedes will host the Southwestern College Moundbuilders on Tuesday, December 13. Tipoff is scheduled for 6pm ct in Hahn Gymnasium.
