PULLING FUELS SWEDES’ VICTORY OVER BRAVES

Ottawa, Kan. – The Bethany College Women's Basketball Team have increased their win streak to double-digits with a 75-57 over the Ottawa University Braves.

The Swedes would take control of this one earlier as Bethany would lead Ottawa 18-10 at the end of the first quarter. R'Manie Pulling would lead the charge with 6 points going 2-for-2 from three-point range in the period.

In the second period, the Swedes would increase their lead to 17 points taking a 42-25 lead into halftime. 8 different Swedes would put points on the board in the second quarter of play.

Bethany would go on to outscore Ottawa by one in the second half of play to take this one 75-57 and increase the conference win streak to 10 games.

R'Manie Pulling would lead the Swedes in scoring with 17 going 7-of-9 from the field including 3-of-4 from downtown. Kisa Unruh was the only other Swede to reach double-digit scoring with 11 point draining 3 three-pointer and 2 free throws. Emily Green lead Bethany with 6 rebounds while Lauren Gleason lead the team in assists with 3.

As a team, Bethany shot 58% from the field while holding Ottawa to just 30.5%. The Swedes' bench would outscore the Braves' bench 15-0 in the second quarter and 38-22 throughout the contest. Bethany would also win the battle of the paint outscoring Ottawa 28-18.

The Swedes are set to host the University of Saint Mary Spires on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Hahn Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 5pm. The last time these two met, the Spires came out on top in a double overtime victory at their place.
