SWEDES BOUNCE BACK; ROUTS YORK

Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Women's Basketball team ended a two-game skid against conference foe York University Wednesday night.

The Swedes would jump out to a 7-2 lead within the first two minutes of play following a mid-range jumper from Autumn Garrett. The Panthers would narrow the gap to just two points over the next two minutes, but the Swedes would get on a roll scoring 13 points in a row to make it 20-5 with 3 minutes left in the first quarter. Bethany would find themselves up 21-10 to end the quarter.

In the second quarter, Kisa Unruh would lead the Swedes in scoring with 9 going 3-of-5 from three-point range. Bethany would go into halftime up 43-23.

The Swedes would outscore the Panthers 40-30 in the second half of play to take an 83-53 win.

Emily Weathers would lead the Swedes in scoring with 16 points while Kisa Unruh would follow closely with 15. Kennedy Becker would lead the team in rebounds with 8 (5 defensive, 3 offensive). Kylie Dunn, Emily Green, and R'Manie Pulling would each tie for the team lead in assists with 3 apiece. Autumn Garrett would show defensive prowess with 4 steals.

As a team, Bethany made a season-high 24 total free throws made on 32 attempts. The Swedes also tied the season-high in three-pointers made with 9. In comparison, Bethany tallied more rebounds, assists, and points off turnovers while also committing almost half as much turnovers than York.

The Swedes have their final regular season away game this weekend when they take the road to Southwestern College. Tipoff is scheduled for 3pm February 11^th at the Stewart Field House in Winfield, Kansas.
