SWEDES OPEN SEASON IN S.D.; FINISH 13TH
Yankton, S.D. – The Bethany College Swedes Women's Golf team opened their season in Yankton, S.D. to compete in the Mount Marty Women's Invitational. Play was scheduled for Thursday, August 28, and Friday, August 29, which is unusual since most tournaments are hosted on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Logan Jakus, a freshman from Norman, Okla., led a team filled with three freshmen, one sophomore, and one junior enroute to a 13th place finish. Jakus shot a 179 (+35) in her first ever golf tournament to place 37th. Annabelle Vanaman (+64), Audrey Allen (+83), and Ekko Hopkins (+111) rounded out the scoring for the Swedes (+291)

The Swedes will get to enjoy the extended weekend due to Labor Day before returning to action on Monday, September 8, as both men and women take a short trip to Salina, Kan. to host the Carmichael Cup at the Salina Municipal Golf Course.
