SWEDES LOSE TO BULLDOGS IN THREE

LINDSBORG, KAN. - The Bethany College Volleyball team hosted the McPherson Bulldogs in a conference match up. The Swedes were unable to take a set and fell to the Bulldogs in three. 

The Swedes and the Bulldogs started off back and forth but the momentum quicky shifted to the Bulldogs. The Swedes fell behind after the Bulldogs had 3 back-to-back 5-point streaks, putting the Swedes back 19-7. The Swedes tried chipping away, but the effort was late in the set. The Bulldogs secured the first set 25-13. The second set was a fought-out battle, with Bethany and McPherson going back and forth. Bethany was one point away from securing the set when McPherson went on a 4-point streak, taking the second set 26-24. During the third set the Swedes and the Bulldogs were neck and neck and ended up tied at 21. The Swedes were unable to secure the set with the Bulldogs going on a 4-point streak and taking the final set 25-21.  

Cameron Boyd, sophomore defensive specialist, had 21 digs on the day. Alyssa George, junior outside hitter, had 8 points on the day while Justice Brackney had 7 points on the day.

The Swedes will have a chance to answer back this Saturday, October 1st against the Bluejays. The Bethany Volleyball team will be traveling to Hillsboro, Kansas for a 6:00 PM match start.
