SWEDES COME OUT VICTORIOUS AGAINST THE BLUEJAYS
Hillsboro, Kan. - The Bethany College Swedes Volleyball team traveled to Hillsboro, Kansas to compete against the Tabor College Bluejays. The Swedes started and ended the match with the momentum, winning in five sets.
The Swedes got ahead early in the first set and stayed ahead, securing the set 25-18. The majority of the second set was tied until the Bluejays got two points ahead of the Swedes, making the score 22-24. The Bluejays then closed out the set 23-25. The Swedes answered back and came out on top in the fought out, set. The Bluejays and the Swedes were tied 23-23 in the third set before the Swedes finished the set 25-23. Tabor got the best of the Swedes in the fourth set, taking it 25-21. This did not discourage the Swedes as they came out on fire for the fifth set. The Swedes started off ahead in the set before Tabor tied it up 13-13. The Swedes responded by getting the next two points with a block and a ball handling error by the Bluejays, securing the third set 15-13 for the match win.
Leading the Swedes was Britta Romisch, senior outside hitter, who had 14 points, 4 digs, and 2 blocks. Also leading the Swedes offense was Justice Brackney, senior middle blocker with 10 kills, and 3 errors out of 26 attempts, resulting in a .269 kill percentage. Zola Moore, junior middle blocker, with 6 kills and only 1 error out of 18 attempts, leading to a .278 kill percentage. Atlantis Jamerson scored 11 points, had 3 digs and made 3 blocks. On the defensive side of the ball, Cameron Boyd had 30 digs followed by Mandy Knipp who had 21 digs.

The Bethany College Volleyball team will be back in action this Wednesday, October 5th in Wichita, Kansas against Friends University. The match against the Falcons is set to start at 7:00 PM.
