SWEDES' DANCE TEAM RANKED 6TH IN PRESEASON POLL

Wichita, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Dance squad is projected to finish 6th in the conference according to the 2021 KCAC Competitive Dance Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The preseason coaches' polls for competitive cheer and dance serve as predictions by the coaches of the finish at the conference championships, so only the teams fully declared to compete in the KCAC and NAIA championships were considered and able to vote. Any squads that participate in Non-NAIA postseason events were not included in the polls.

Ottawa earned the top spot after tallying 28 total points and two first-place votes. York narrowly missed out on the top spot, earning 26 total points and three first-place votes. Rounding out the top three was Kansas Wesleyan, with 20 total points. The final first-place vote went to Bethel, who finished fifth in the poll.

"I think we are right where we belong," said Coach Lorenzo "Zo" Araujo. "We haven't made much noise to this point and this year will be highly competitive. If I had to guess first through fourth are competing for 1.5 points at the conference championship." Coach Zo will be fielding almost a completely different team with one returner and 3 newcomers.
