Swedes Secure First Win with Dominant 5–0 Victory over Union Adventist Warriors

Lincoln, Neb. – The Bethany College Swedes Men's Soccer team secured their first win of the season with a commanding 5–0 victory over the Union Adventist University Warriors in their third match of the year.

The Swedes opened their weekend road trip in Lincoln, Neb., with a dominant performance from the opening whistle. Just five minutes into the match, freshman Baptista Amofa capitalized on a series of rebounds inside the box, firing into the top corner to record both the game's opening goal and the first of his collegiate career. Bethany quickly doubled their lead in the 16th minute when Steven McQueen delivered a precise long ball that found Richard Livingston, who showed great control and composure to beat the final defender and slot home the Swedes' second goal of the afternoon. The strike also marked Livingston's first career goal at the collegiate level, a memorable milestone for the sophomore.

The highlight of the match came in the 24th minute from senior captain Karl-Heinz Morrow, who unleashed a spectacular strike from outside the box following a defensive clearance, stunning the crowd with a highlight-reel finish. The Swedes continued to create chances throughout the first half while limiting the Warriors to zero shots on goal, a testament to their defensive organization across all lines.

The second half was more physical, as Bethany managed possession while rotating players in preparation for Saturday's quick turnaround. Still, the Swedes added to their tally in the 64th minute when senior captain Steven McQueen calmly converted a penalty to make it 4–0. Late in the match, after a defensive miscue from Union, Emmanuel Dukuly pounced on the loose ball and scored his first career goal in the 87th minute to seal a 5–0 result for the Swedes.
