WALDEN SETS CAREER-HIGHS AS SWEDES FALL TO DROVERS
Chickasha, Okla. – The Bethany College Swedes took one final trip to end 2025 with a matchup in Chickasha, Okla. against the USAO (University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma) Drovers.
Hannah Moss and Lilyan Walden both held the hot hand as they would combine for 17 of the Swedes 26 points in the first half. Moss (nine points) converted some tough layups in the paint while Walden (eight points) hit two from beyond the arc. The Swedes would trail 36-26 at the break.
Walden would continue to scorch the Drover defense in the second half drilling three more three-pointers. Meanwhile, Colbi Rignell and Janae Black-Harmon would come alive in the third quarter scoring a combined 10 points to open the period. Although the Swedes won the third period 20-16, they would lose the fourth period by the same score resulting in a 72-62 loss in Chickasha.
Lilyan Walden set career-highs in points (21), three-pointers made (5) and rebounds (7). Colbi Rignell tacked on 11 and Hannah Moss scored 10. Moss also dished out four assists.
The Swedes shot 38.7% from the floor, but 42.6% from the second quarter on. Points off turnovers and second-chance points played a big part as the Swedes only mustered 11 points off 13 turnovers while the Drovers scored 17 off 17 turnovers. As for second-chance points, the Swedes were outscored 13-5 in those opportunities.

The Swedes will get to enjoy the New Year on campus as they resume conference play against the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles at home in Ray D. Hahn Gymnasium on Bethany College's campus. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
